“smart food” Canned sardines

dines
Sardines are a collective name for some herrings. The side of the body is flat and silvery white. Adult sardines are about 26 cm long. They are mainly distributed in the Northwest Pacific around Japan and the coast of the Korean Peninsula. The rich docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in sardines can improve intelligence and enhance memory, so sardines are also called “smart food”.

Sardines are warm-water fish in the coastal waters and are generally not found in the open seas and oceans. They swim quickly and usually inhabit the upper middle layer, but in autumn and winter when the surface water temperature is low, they inhabit deeper sea areas. The optimum temperature of most sardines is around 20-30℃, and only a few species have a lower optimum temperature. For example, the optimum temperature of Far Eastern sardines is 8-19℃. Sardines mainly feed on plankton, which varies according to the species, sea area and season, as are adult fish and juvenile fish. For example, the adult golden sardine mainly feeds on planktonic crustaceans (including copepods, brachyuridae, amphipods and mysids), and also feeds on diatoms. In addition to feeding on planktonic crustaceans, juveniles also eat diatoms and Dinoflagellates. Golden sardines generally do not migrate long distances. In autumn and winter, adult fish live in deep waters 70 to 80 meters away. In spring, the coastal water temperature rises and fish schools migrate near shore for reproductive migration. The larvae and juveniles grow up on the coastal bait and gradually migrate northward with the warm current of the South China Sea in summer. The surface water temperature drops in autumn and then migrates south. After October, when the body of the fish has grown to more than 150 mm, due to the decrease in coastal water temperature, it gradually shifts to the deeper sea area.

The nutritional value of sardines

1. Sardines are rich in protein, which is the highest iron content in fish. It is also rich in EPA, which can prevent diseases such as myocardial infarction, and other unsaturated fatty acids. It is an ideal healthy food. The nucleic acid, a large amount of vitamin A and calcium contained in the sardine can enhance memory.

2. Sardines contain a long-chain fatty acid with 5 double bonds, which can prevent thrombosis and have special effects on the treatment of heart disease.

3. Sardines are rich in vitamin B and marine repair essence. Vitamin B can help the growth of nails, hair and skin. It can make hair darken, grow faster, and make skin look cleaner and more even.
